Resourcing - Objectives

The Department of Resourcing within the Management and Personnel Office assumes overall responsibility for staffing in the Public Service.  The Department is directly responsible for recruitment and promotions of staff in the General Service Grades (clerical, executive and middle/upper management grades/positions) and for the deployment of General Service Officers within Ministries and line Departments.

The Resourcing Department extends support and advice to Ministries and line Departments regarding recruitment and promotions procedures and the filling of specialised departmental/ professional posts and created ad hoc positions in line with the regulations and policies of the Public Service Commission.  Staff complements in ministries and departments are also monitored to ensure actual needs.

The Department plays a central role in the implementation of more streamlined recruitment/promotion procedures as agreed to by the Government and the Public Service Commission.
