Employee Relations
The Department of Employee Relations endeavours to formulate, launch and
monitor policies which improve the conditions of service of public officers, in order to promote a motivated, productive and disciplined
workforce;
-
These conditions of service include policies which grant benefits to public
officers, and establish controls to monitor the use of these benefits in a decentralised environment;6>
-
The department acts as a catalyst for such major initiatives as Gender
Mainstreaming and Occupational Health and Safety policies in the Public Service;
-
In order to create a culture of integrity and excellence, guidelines are also
formulated and constantly updated on ethics and conduct for public officers;
The policies adopted seek to adapt the workforce of the Public Service to
modern management methods and make it capable of responding to the programmes of Government and the needs of the public.
